Seagull have given my prayhood a good pasting. How is the best way to clean it off? On a swinging mooring so no pressure washer.

I'm about to try a new deterant this year - plastic snakes on the deck. One of my mates swears by them. Nothing I've tried so far keeps the s..t-hawks off. I just swear at the birds.
