Can anyone please supply me with any details/plans of the birchwood 25? we have just bought one as a resto-project and cant find any information on them. Also any info on the volvo penta petrol v8's would be gratefully recieved. thanks.

Bit of general info only.Launched in 1968 as the Birchwood Interceptor a slightly modified boat was renamed the 25 around 1975.1500 were built up to 1980.Most Interceptors had hard top helm shelter while 25 had more shelter amounting to an open backed wheel house.Shallow V hull. Most came with 115hp or 130hp Volvo petrol.Option of 225 hp OMC or twin outdrive 145 hp was also on offer.
All details lifted from "25 years of Motor Cruisers "(1960-1984) still available from MBM.
Ps.About some somebody did another one. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another Birchwood 25 owner puts his hand up.

I too struggled to get info on the Birchwood. If you look up Birchwood 25 on the search engine you will see any info I was able to obtain from the forum. I have copies of a couple of articles on the Birchwood 25 if you PM me your address I can send you copies when I am at the boat next as they are onboard. As for plans not sure- some are factory built others were sold as shall or have been refitted. In my case we think she was sold as a shell as the helm is not the plastic padded variety but all wood. Great river boat and like most things when you have one you then see loads on the river.

Hi akorn , the Birchy 25 was also done as an interceptor , which mine is , heads on the right as you enter the cabin , seating and table / berth on the left , galley on the right after the heads , then a silly setup with cupboards to try and seperate the main v berth from the rest . Anything like yours ?
