Does anyone have any background on the excellent Hurley 22 designer Ian Anderson. For example what part of the country does he come from and which Yacht clubs did he belong to. I don't wish to be too past tense as I think he is still alive. If he reads this I would ask if he ever knew Ian Hannay. Their 22 ft boat designs are very similar in profile. I wish they made em like this today.

Yes I know what you mean. I found mine the other day, it was in the sink. I put it back on strait away but it's a bit slow now. Ill have to wait for it to dry out, it must have got wet!!!

Would be very interested to know if he is still with us, as I have been trying to research my own boat, a Bowman 26, which he designed, and which became the forerunner of the Hurley 27, or so I am led to believe.
Hope you get some good news on the subject.
Sorry that I cant actually help with your query tho.
Brgds
Mike

If you do a Google search this page comes up -

http://www.tradboat2.co.uk/editorial/cruisers.htm

refers to the Hurley Owners Assoc and says they get lots of help from Ian Anderson so plainly the place to start.

a pragmatist is an optimist with a boat in the UK - but serious about not being in the UK !
