Bilge pump Y adapter with check valves

That's a handy-looking bit of kit, but sadly I've no idea where you'd get one this side of the Pond.
The only alternative, as I'm sure you've realised, is a pair of check-valves in series with a plain 'Y', which would bump up cost and complexity, even before you add in the hose clips.
...or bite the bullet and order it from the US. They seem to ship worldwide.

From experience I would not want y valves in a bilge pump system.
Check valves always leak slowly (except when they leak quickly), because bilge water has bits in it. Systems of y valves thus allow some water to run back and you can never get the bilge dry.
Keep it simple, drill another hole...

I've experienced this but another problem is if one of the branches leaks then it's difficult to get the other side to prime as you are sucking in air.

Ive googled and searched for a UK supplier of Y adapter as seen here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUAL-BILG...at_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item258d2661ab

With no success. I know Whale do a Y adapter but without the check vlaves built in, which I would prefer.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

If there is no UK supplier and the item is exactly what you want then buy from the US. I have done without any problems

Rather like China, delivery can be as quick (or quicker) than UK suppliers.

I don't like the idea of non-return valves in bilge piping generally. With a Y-fitting, there would seem to be a lot of opportunity for the bilge pump to suck air if debris gets in to one of the valves.

As others say, check valves rarely work well on a boat, largely because there is never enough head to close them efficiently. A toilet joker valve (tricuspid) is more reliable than the simple flap valve fitted to those Y adapters and you don't need to read these forums for long to know how often they fail. Far better to bite the bullet and install two (or more) bilge pumps properly. You might need to rely on them one day.

As several forumites seem to need the same item, why not club together and as I previously suggested buy from the US. The shipping may end up cheaper.
