Just bought secondhand TMC Auto eye (inbuilt float switch) and testing at home has the manual side working but auto not working when put in a bucket of water. Something here I'm missing ?

Apparently it works on a reed switch ... so basically it works similar to a float switch. I would guess that the float chamber is not venting properly .... i.e. there is an air lock. Sorry no actual experience with these.
