Dear All,

I am off to the Boat Show this weekend. I cannot seem to get any info on a new bilge keel yacht between 28 and 32 feet. Any thoughts from the forum on what I should make a special effort to see?
Cheers

Lordy.

Obviuos candidates are Legend Yachts from the states - loads offered with bilge keels and you get a fair bit of LOA for the £.

Other than that not sure, bilge keels seem to be less common than they once were.

Naturally I would second the RM cause I've just bought one, the above mentioned Hawana. See thread here:

Hawana arrives at SIBS thread

Sadler is a good alternative as well. Probably better finished than an RM (which is deliberately kept simple for low maintenance), more conventional in layout and slightly more stable dried out. It's probably around £15k more for like for like spec.

The RM will trump it on performance (although the Sadler is fast as well) and strength. You'll either love it or hate it on looks cause it's got chines. Personally I think it looks great, especially with the huge selection of colours available (250!).

Others to think about include Hunter Channel 31 and Legend 31.

Hope that helps

Yet another vote for the Sadler 290. On the pontoon. Berth 270 I seem to recall. You will find others of a similar size that cost less. You have to ask yourself why they cost less.
The only potential downside is that, as I understand it, the order book is pretty full.
