I'll have to stand at the edge of Hythe Pier with the girls and binoculars as we do not have our skipper with us until 6pm.

Will we see anything from there, will it be going past us?

Re: skipper not required

Yep, perfect weather, and not far. Go on, try it! You won't build up experience (or confidence) until you try. Blame any dings on us lot, and we'll soon set Nick straight ;)

You really should get used to being able to handle the boat without Nick around, it might be useful one day, and will do no end of confidence boosting

Strictly confidential

I am totally with you guys on this one as I would be only too pleased if Joanne handled the boat a bit more.

Anyway, stricltly between us of course she is pretty easy (boat that is) with shafts and bow thruster............

Keep encouraging Joanne please!

Re: Strictly confidential

We can do encouragement from afar, but only you can do the 'don't worry, it won't cost much to fix' bit. You have to let Joanne know that she can take the boat out without worry that if anything does go wrong it doesn''t matter.

The real point is that very rarely does anything go wrong. We all make mistakes when we start, and we bounce around the marina with lots of fenders outs.. task for kiddies. set out fenders, then rove around with fenders on ropes. Tell them that the have to put the fenders where it looks like the boats might touch something....they're not stupid, they can work it out, and it becomes a game

The more that Joanne does now, the more fun boating you will have in the future
