Bham Boat Show....A shame

Unfortunately the failure of this show is not just due to the economy but more to do with the internal politics of the caravan industry and number of shows

Perhaps so but I thought that Birmingham NEC was actually several different halls that could sport numerous different events at the same time, if there was any interest in the Marine part you would have thought they could have still run it in a smaller hall ?

I am based in the NE and my feedback is almost all are complaining about the current climate, appears worse now than it has been for 2 years.

Only ones happy are in cheap/slightly damaged pile it high bargain style wholesale and retail.

Make no mistake it was the caravan sector that bought the show down, a few years back (four) it just about had legs with all the major builders there (with one boat) but it was never big enough for a stand alone marine show and never will be. Its simply too small, the interest maybe there but the venue will not allow for anything larger than 50ft flybridge boat and the inland sector cannot afford to exhibit at the rates needed to make it stand alone.
