Well some of you will have been wondering if this would appear. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
This was just another reason for the Wokingham chapter to have a meet up. We arranged a surprise 60th party on the beach at East Head, Chichester for, 'His Royal Derekness, Rear Admiral Fairline' AKA 'djefabs'
Not an easy thing to do without his knowledge but his daughter Helen and a few of the gang set about the task with a theme of 'Pirates'. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Here She is, the one in the big hat. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
There were Jolly Roger flags every where like these preparing to leave...
The order of the day was Rape, Pillage and Drink! You should be able to recognise some of the mottley crews coming ashore...
Not forgetting what the day was about... Look at these two dodgy characters.
Birthday Boy himself. Won't tell you how I described his outfit. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Anyway a great time was enjoyed, plenty of booze and plenty to eat as delivered by Frank of Hayling Rescue.
A few more drag queens here, It was like 'Pirates of Penzance' only 'Funner!'
As we arrived there were boats everywhere as this is a busy anchorage, the faces on the other boaters not involved was priceless, I'm sure they thought we making a movie! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Anyway a good was had by all and the weather held out 'til late. It was great that everyone turned up as a pirate. The strange thing was that most thought it ws a wind up and that they would be the only one. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
It just goes to show, there's more to boating than maintenance, fees and fuel! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
BTW. Glad you had a good B'day Derek! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
