Better line for my lazy lines

Have just about sorted my lazy line configuration, it seems to contain the dropped sail ok and the whole lot will pull forward to stow neatly under the boom when not required.

I used 3mm polyester for the line but it seems very 'floppy', tangles easily and unravels like mad when cut.
Previously I have had a load of 3 or 4mm platted ( octoplat?) line which had quite a stiff handle ( the sort of stuff that you can knot but then untie!) and I would like to obtain this to redo the lines.

What have you found best for lazy lines, do you recognise the sort of stiffer platted line I refer to?

I use 6 mm 8 plait polyester as here:

Think I'd call them 'paininthearsejacks' if I had to derig them every time I put the sail up!

Don't be tempted to use the nice looking line sold by The Range, et al. It's cheap and works fine at first, but it's polyprop, so will disintegrate inside a year.

Our current practice is to 'de rig' before hoisting and then pull them back when we are about to drop.
De rigging for us is just a case of pulling the lines forward to a cleat on the mast, about 10 seconds a side.
