I Just thought I`d pass on my recent good experience with Beta Marine. I know some of these firms get slagged off, Volvo for expensive parts etc. but I`ve had a couple of major issues, which without going into specifics were really not Beta`s fault but they coughed up and replaced everything FOC when arguably they needn`t have. Anyway, I am very pleased and would recommend them to anyone thinking of re-engining. I have a Beta 14 with their Seaprop 60 on my Oyster 26 after my old Volvo MD7a packed up and it`s a great combination. No connections to Beta.

Agreed, I replaced the MD7A in my Nicholson32 with the 14HP. Nice little engine.

BUT, on my new boat (Rustler 36) the previous owner had put in a 35HP Beta. Major problems with the gearbox as it appeared to be underspecified (that box in no longer offered with the same engine). Beta had little interest the problem. A grand for a new box.

I fitted a Beta engine just over two years ago and had slight commissioning niggles (my fault) which were helpfully explained and easily fixed.
they have a well deserved reputation as a excellent company to bu y from.
