Hi,

Any advice, please, on wiring a NASA exhaust alarm to come on when engine is in use? I am told that connecting direct to the engine ignition switch would do it, but the Beta manual's wiring diagram and the actual numbered terminals (there are 5, 4 in use) on the back of the switch don't seem to match.

So I am at a loss which terminal(s) to use.

The alarm has red & black wires from the back of the display and NASA say "wire to ignition switch".

It's the standard Beta ABV keyed-ignition panel with a tacho and 4 warning lights (i.e not the posh one).

Thanks,

C

Connect the NASA black to any convenient negative, connect the red to anything that becomes live when you turn the key on. A multimeter will tell you which to use, if you don't have one, buy one, it's a useful thing to have.

As Early bird says connect to the accessories (AC) terminal of the switch . You can identify the terminals if they are not marked as you expect from the colour code of the existing wiring by referring to the wiring diagram in the engine operators manual and confirming with a meter or test lamp.

It might be more convenient though to pick up suitable connection in the engine compartment if you can identify a suitable wire
