What is the easiest way to reach the anchor light on the radar arch + stainless tower of a Fairline Phantom 38?

It extends beyond the swim platform and going over the arch from the flybridge might put a lot of weight / leverage on it, which I am not sure it can support.

Any ideas?

You'll be fine on the radar arch. If you don't want to do that, your only other choice is a very steep ladder up from the platform, tied to the radar arch. Too dodgy. I'd just get on the radar arch and sit astride it and reach up from there.

The arch is pretty strong Eugene, it should be fine, I've been sat on it for a while whilst re-wiring the instruments.
The support should hinge at the back and fall down below the arch (not sure they all do) this makes working on a ladder from the swim platform a little easier, but still quite a height.

Incidentally, the reason I was re-wiring was because they had wired the instruments without allowing for the hinge.

Yes, but you're a bit smaller than me ;-)

Why can't you tighten the lines on the boat then use a normal ladder placed on the pontoon? Tied on suitably of course

We have an alongside mooring but I agree, this would be the easiest and the least risky approach - will try it.

I've got to say, having tried it both ways, just sitting on the arch is the easiest and for me at least, safest way.

(@jfm - remember this? :D)
Yeah but you got two blokes shouldering/holding up the radar arch Jimmy. Appearances can deceive, but the bloke in the blue polo shirt has an iron man grip. And he's holding the radar arch quite firmly too.
