Best two days in a boats life......

It's true - the day you buy her and the day you sell her!

After 6 months my beautiful boat has sold.

As a result i've learnt a few lessons.

1) Don't believe Matt S! You may actually get more then 85% of what you're asking for!

2) Just because someone makes you an offer and you accept it, doesn't mean they will proceed with the sale. We wasted months with 4 time wasters promising to bring in a deposit but never turning up.

3) To prevent the above get a holding deposit at the time of an offer. If they can't put a grand or two on a card then they're probably not that serious. Waiting for 10% (which could be £10k or £20k) gives someone far too much time to go cold over the deal.

4) Not all Estate Agent are bad! One bought my boat. Offer to completion in about 10 days (including finance and surveys).

Seems that "estate agent" is another of those horrible banned words.

Anyway well done for flogging off your loverly boat. I can't remember saying yerl never sell it (twas a targa 29?30?) but but what will you do now?

Good memory it was a Targa 30. I've been away for a while (curry side computing in Bombay) but am back now!

I was referring to a recent comment of your - always offer 30% less!

I have already purchased new car (trade sales, excellent deal) and am planning a little financial recovery.

I may also try and hack back the jungle that used to be my garden.

I will also be sulking on nice sunny days unless I can blag a trip on a friend's boat! Whaer do you keep your's again?
