I am replacing the wooden cover on my cockpit sole. I have some lovely mahogany for the job.
All my other woodwork (a bit of trim, the cockpit seat and tiller) is circa 1966, completely black in colour and kept sound by an annual coat of sadolin garden furniture preserver. (simply applied layer on layer )
I have thought of treating the new stuff with decks oile but would appreciate any thoughts on optimum treatment that will preserve the mahogany, have a nice colour and not be slippy underfoot.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
