Hi

Currently, I have a P50 with a 2 year old Avon compact 250 rib tender with a yamaha 9hp outboard. Basic but functional for getting ashore.

However, christmas is coming and i am planing on upgrading the tender so that we can ski ect while Elle is at anchor.

Now I love the look of the new Williams Mini Jet and am investigating how affordable this is and if the reliability issues have been resolved. In the meawhile, i am trying to figure out if there is an outboard engine that i could use with the existing avon 250 that would pull a skiier.

Any thoughts or advice from those who have jets ribs or tenders that pull skieers gratefully recieved.

You say "we can ski" so I assume you're talking about adults? If that's the case, then I don't think there's anything you can do with your current RIB, which will have a max rated engine of 8-10hp? You can over power it with a 15hp, but that wont be enough.

You could get something like the ones below, they would be borderline with a 20hp 4 stroke, but would do the job if you can find a good 25hp 2-stroke, which are around 50 kgs and have more punch.
