Best stuff for cleaning sink/toilet outlets?

Well maintained Colvic Watson M/Sailer ( till I bought it last autumn). Water systems neglected while I've been replacing parts of aft cabin bulkhead etc. 'cos of the dreaded rot. Sink and handbasin slow to drain and newish heads 'chucked up' something orrible when I flushed through a while back.
Be grateful for info. on what to use and how?

Try a plunger or rod through any gunge on the sinks. It's unlikely to need any more than may need occasionally doing on domestic sinks. (Assuming the run of the hose is not the problem and that the seacocks are OK)

It depends what is blocking it.

If its organic a plug hole unblocker or caustic soda will clear it. Take care with caustic soda and products containing it. Keep it off your skin and in particular protect your eyes.

If its a carbonate limescale type of deposit an acid based descaler or a hydrochloric acid based cleaner will remove it.
