Best product to descale heat exchanger (raw water)

Could anyone recommend a product that can be fed through the raw water strainer and is effective in cleaning the heat exchanger (raw water) without taking it apart, and without causing damage?

I hope that I am not asking too much.

Citric acids is very good, available from wine making shops and Boots. You can pickle the heat exchanger without any metallic damage, and any excess citric can be diluted and used in G&T
