Best place to buy mooring strops for UFO 34 ?

Hi,

I need a pair of mooring strops for my UFO34. Owing to the assymetric layout of the deck cleat wrt the fairleads I need them to be different lengths and I have decided to go for octoplait or similar rather than chain. SaltyJohn sells them but the price is rather dear for me and I just wondered if anyone here has a favoured supplier who sells them at a more reasonable price ? I need a thimble at one end and a loop at the other with anti-chafing in between.

Sellers on ebay will make them for you; I use braided pvc pipe as anti-chafe (sew a thin line on to pull the line through if doing it yourself; soft nylon rope bunches up if you try and push it through) 22mm rope goes through 25mm hose OK. You don't have to have loops for the cleats - I just attach them using figures-of-eight and then tie the knot snug with a thin line through the cleat - so the strops don't have to be exact lengths?

Also, a length of really big lay-flat hose dropped down over the thimbles and shackle can help to stop the metal scratching the bows on a mooring in the tide I've found.
