Hi I am interested in a boat like the S390 sealine for open style use in med, plenty of outside shade space, large swim platform for spark jetski. the boat will be in denia and potential passages to Ibiza would be good. Am I best going new or higher quality 2nd hand. Fairly new to this category of boat but have spent a lot of time on a fourwinns H210. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

I guess there is no such thing as best but as an owner for the last 20 years (in the Med) of a Sealine S37, the boat you are looking at is a good compromise of berth cost, buoy restrictions which we are seeing more of in the Med and size for a couple and more for short periods.
We all look at the next size up but realistically this size of boat has and will suit me for some time to come. If we have friends out for long periods we just get a hotel room which SHMBO has seemed to take a liking for.
We bought new and have never regretted it, but there is a sound argument for letting someone else have the teething problems and that first couple of years of depreciation.

Thanks David, how much time do you spend on your boat
I‘m retired now so have flexibility but a fortnight at a time half a dozen times a year. At first all holidays are spent on the boat but now it’s a mix and match with other further flung breaks.
Also I’ll add that this size of boat handles a f4 chop (common in the Med) comfortably and not from choice but f6/7 safely at displacement speeds.
