Given the plans for Cherbourg I have been persuaded that it is sensible to take Cottontail (our Galion 22) back to sunny Southampton for the second week of September.

If anyone has any pointers to a nice berth which is convenient for the show I would be delighted to hear.

Town quay no longer takes visitors so it's Ocean Village and walk or taxi or Hythe Marina and get the ferry for the nearest.

For a few years Gosport ferry ran a small launch to the show from Gosport, but it was about £10 return and as I recall left Gosport around 9 arriving aat 10 and left Southampton at 6 or thereabouts.

Why not clean the boat up and swear blind you're one of the exhibits or giving try a sail bits? They have loads of pontoons at the show, I'd have thought they'd have had one or two spare. My boat got in there a year or three back. Downside is of course you'll get the great British public on the boat but some are quite nice and flatter your boat in the proper manner.
