Yes, I've checked previous posts, and the PBO article last month (?) and various manufacturers websites and now my brain hurts. The pace of technological development is so fast I can't keep up.

So, I'm re-lamping Hella sidelights -Port, Starboard and Stern. The sidelights are in lightboxes some 2m above the waterline, but the stern light is vulnerable aft to a wetting, so some sort of waterproof capability would be nice. I'm leaving the steaming light as the engine will kick out enough juice to keep the 20w beast happy. And I don't have/can't fit a masthead Tri.

I'll also be adding some new festoon bulbs around the cabin, so thoughts on those will be nice, but not as critical as the Nav lights.

So, DrLED? Bebi? Navylux? etc etc. What do we like? Has anyone got any horror stories?

I have jsut ordered some bulbs from these guys . Not for navigation, but for inside the cabin.

They were a lot cheaper and a lot more helpful than others (including Ultraled who did not stock the stuff they had displayed on the webpage)

I bought an LED for the masthead light from a stall at the Newark boat jumble and it is absolutely and totally hopeless, don't remember the make but will check this weekend and report back.

I bought Bebi for masthead and side lights - very happy- all soldered in, so they work every time - a new experience for me! They are very white so if you use existing colour filters the green shows up a bit bluish. I put a yellow filter inside to bring the 'green' back.
