After a successful cruise in company in May, we were under pressure to do another one before the end of the year.

So we looked at dates and decide on the weekend of 3rd/4th/5th October to head down to St Peter Port.

Passage plans done, venue arranged and all set to go......... Leave the Solent on Saturday morning was the plan.

Now look what the future brings.............

And after last weekend as well! Bollox!

Y'know when I mentioned I was taking my son to Stansted this weekend. Do you reckon I knew something?

I have been watching it approach since Friday. I was wishing it would move north, but a pesky other one had come in now.

Sunday is not looking too bad but will be very sloppy after that kind of blow.

Hi David,

We had exactly the same problem for the August bank hols. 22 Sealine Boats all booked into Cherbourg, Jersey & Guernsey - then comes the "Severe Weather Warning" on the VHF as we were about to leave. Still, we all had a great time in Lymington and Swanwick instead.
It's amazing how much fun can be had on your own doorstep.

The only way to boat is, no plan. No route, nothing. Go where it takes you. Amazingly you finnish up most every where eventually. Tomorrows forcast is best you can get, later may well change.

Having said all that, weve done plymouth to solent udals of times, usually taking in CI's and Brittainy on the trip.

As a boss it was quite easy to direct things in one direction or another.

Hi David,

Looks like that may well be what we do. Although forecast is changing by the hour almost. Does not look as bad on Saturday - but we won't be crossing the channel that's for sure!

We could well be seeing you in Valshedas on Saturday night.
