Pontoon neighbour (my skip raiding competitor) got a mast ladder, the kind that slots into the track and goes up with a halyard. About 12 meters and perfect.
I have a garageful of bits of stainless steel. One day I'll get round to using it for something.

7mm forestay (ended up as my one piece jackstay on the 22ft boat)
Yards of tubing, 1/2 sheets of plywood.
All from the same (unnamed) marina.....

The lad is perspicacious.

two long stainless steel horns (off big power boat) which i'm failing, as yet, being able to turn into something useful other than a flower bowl ..... help, pls ...
