Hi Everyone,

Can anyone recommend replacement batteries. I have two sets of 2 - 12v batteries delivering 24v. I need to replace one set. The other pair have lasted quite well and are Delphi I think but I wonder if there is anything better. Are gel batteries better? I need to start two old Perkins T6354's so they need to cope with a bit of churning. I save one pair for starting and the other pair for domestics when at anchor.

Thanks

What you need for starting is high Cold Crank Amp ... (CCAH) ... not deep cycle for the engines... Lead is wavy to give higher surface area than deep cycle, which have thicker lead elements ...

I bought two 170 AH (1100 CCAH) at £120 each for ours recently (including next day delivery) .... works a treat for our Detroit 6/71's ....and great service from these guys ( http://www.performancebatteries.co.uk ) !!!
