Hi,

I need to do a dayskipper theory course but I'm unable to attend a classroom based course due to work commitments. Has anyone had any experience of the numerous correspondence courses that seem to be available?

Any info greatly appreciated :)

I've just done the correspondance course that is administered by Solent School of Yachting. A couple of the practice questions needed updating, but apart from that it was A1. I completed it fairly easily in 3 months doing odd bits in evenings after work. You could do it much quicker. I also bought the CD than bryantee mentioned, as a useful backup, and it has really good quiz sections - you could use it alone if you already have a bit of knowledge (as a complete beginner, it wouldn't have been enough for me).

I'm about to embark on coastal skipper now, and have chosen Tiller School, only because Solent don't do coastal by correspondance. Tiller looks like the next best choice after lots of surfing ! Whoever you chose, you should be able to negotiate a hefty discount if 2 of you do it together.
