Hi

I need a new bilge pump to replace an Automatic (no name) 1500GPH pump. It needs to be compact and the usual sort of size and shape to fit in the deepest part of the deep bilge. I don't want one that senses electrically every few minutes but rather one with an integral float switch.

What's the best one to go for?

Thanks
John

After two near disasters caused by faulty or clogged float switches, I'd never use one in a critical place. I find the electronic sensors to be fully reliable these days. As for make, I'd agree about Rule.

I'm in the stage of construction so I'm putting ply-board covers over the keel cavity to stop debris falling down into the bilge. (The ply is strong enough to take the weight of a person)

My 1st problem was when the motor developed a small oil leak. The oil, along with dust caused the issue. I'm sure with clean water they're probably fine. I just lost faith and trust in them after that.
