Indeed it is.....and where better to drink it than at the Butt and Oyster!!
If you are going for Woolverstone there is a very pleasant footpath from the marina to the Butt ad Oyster....takes about 20 minutes at a leisurely stroll :)

The Butt and Oyster is a wonderful pub, in a very special place. In the 1960's, before children were allowed in pubs, I remember spending many happy hours as a child relegated with a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps to playing in the mud outside, amongst the wreckage of Thames sailing barges that had come there to die, whilst the grown-ups got sloshed inside.
The alternative was to sit in the "smoking room", which really was bloody smokey. The landlord used to be a lame man with a handle-bar moustache called Pat Watts - who hated the sea and yachties in particular. If you have a look at the Arthur Ransome book "We didn't mean to go to sea", the B&O features in some of the illustrations.

That was one of the things that helped me decide on Woolverstone, am looking forward to walking to the Butt & Oyster, hope the dog remembers the way back! We tried to get in there for Sunday lunch when we went for a look round in September but couldn't get near the place.

Not many proper places like that unless you know where to go or just make a lucky stumble across one, one of the best I have been in for a long time

Can you buy Ghost Ship in a bottle

Yes you can, Adnams brewery not far from the Orwell, one of the places on my list to visit.
