I'm after having a short removable bowsprit made which would somehow fit and firmly secure to our 2nd (spare) bow roller fitting. This is needed to get the tack of our cruising chute far enough forward away from the pulpit. Has anyone successfully done this and has a photo of the install which could be shared? And any idea of a stainless fabricator who has experience of making such a fitting?

TIA

Rob

seen and used just such a fitting on a southerly 35 rs with a gennaker on a soft furling gear that could be rolled up and bagged. worked well.

phone northshore and ask them where they buy them from

Names I collected a couple of years ago, but circumstances changed and we did not get the planned work done

I also found someone with a workshop on the south side of the A259 just east of Emsworth heading towards Prinsted and Southbourne. Sorry lost the name and phone number. (about120m east of Gordon Road at 50° 50' 46.06"N, 0° 55' 26.48"W according to Google earth)

Selden Masts make one .. 4" Alloy Tube .. All fittings are available .. Just fitted one to our Beneteau 323 .. Had to get an angled bracket made to fit to the side of the bowroller . Had a backing plate made as well .. Four holes and stainless bolts to hold it in place .. Selden supply a deck eye to hold the tail end down .. All seemed to fit apart from falling head first into the chain locker while trying to put penny washers and nuts on the deck eye .. Pole is about 2m long with a hole in each end fitting for your foot halyard .. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If anyone wants pictures of the Northshore setup with fittings etc PM me with email address and I will forward some photographs.

Second the Selden recommendation.

Had one for a year now and it really does work well

Makes gybing easy

My only issue is the cost of the staunchion mounted stowage fittings !

Have fun
