All right then, how about this...

Since deciding to get Alexandros back into the water just after Christmas, I have managed to get a sail in once a week since Feb 8th. That is a much better rate of sailing then I achieved throughout last summer. Amazing! Plus the Blackwater is empty at this time of year, yesterday we saw only one other cruiser motoring down river past Osea.

There, not a single moan or whinge!





Has been cold though, very cold, and wet, and dark at times. Did I mention how cold it was last week?

We brought our new boat back on the 4th December, a couple of days after the big snowfall. Temperature 2.5 Centigrade, and it took me 45 minutes on the Friday to dig my way into the cockpit and get the hatch open

But most enjoyable really, not a breath of wind sea like glass.

Despite staying in the water, we've not managed much sailing this winter, but have had a few lovely nights onboard... get the heating well fired up, a glass of good wine, the oil lamp lit, and nothing much can beat it!

we relaunched last Monday.
Saturday done gen clean-up below & washed the decks, rove some lines, filled the water tank, ran engine up it went on the first key turn .
