Besenzoni programming

Posted in error in PBO, I was told in there, none of this fancy stuff here, only builders planks ...

I have another IR remote for a besenzoni passarelle to program in.

Easy you might think, open the control box, press the button, point the new remote at it, job done, only no.

But, the actual sequence eludes me, I have tried several permutations, press the button, press button on remote, press button on remote, then press button on control unit, etc, whatever I do, the new remote does not 'take'.

The led in the control flashes when the remote is activated, but, still no joy.

I have seen a pdf of a manual for a different control unit, that states press the button in the unit 3 times, hold on the 3rd press then fire the remote at it, nothing.

Any ideas ? or a link to a manual ?

This is probably the best manual on the net., as indicated by the fact it contains the 1-9 sequence on page 2 which is closely guarded info by Bes. A certian boatbuilder gave it to me, and when I explained to my local Bes service guy that I knew how to do it he was horrified I had this secret! Though, er, like everything it is on the 'net.

Anyway, back to the point. Bottom of page 2 gives the learning routine, which is different depending on which series your control boox is. Is this any use or have you tried all these procedures?

Not at all, I checked the IR side of these before I came to the boat & they were working.

Anyway, problem solved. I found that PDF which gave me some clues, after a little more trial & error, I discovered the correct sequence.


It may be of use to some one else :-

Open the control unit, press the red button 3 times, holding it down on the 3rd press, a red led will light, aim the remote at the sensor inside the control unit, press any button on the remote, the led in the control will flash.

Where I was coming unstuck :-

Release the red button, THEN release the button on the remote.


So far it has been a busy but constructive week,

fit a new battery charger.

replace one battery bank.

replace 2 dud bilge blowers.

crane in & connect up a repaired engine.

refit all the parts of the boat removed to get the engine out.

clean up & sea trial.

thread new cabling in for an external Wifi access point, setup & test.

Tomorrow, a little relaxation ...
