Berthing Fees Query???

The marina is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me berth to lie
Through seas of green he leadeth me the silent waters by
With red diesel he releaseth my soul
He maketh me to declare my tax split tho
He still wanteth my money when I selleth my boat
For lo, he hath great power and great hunger

When cometh the day we lowly ones
Through quiet reflection and great dedication
Master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water.

With apologies both to the psalmist and to Roger Waters

Congratulations on selling Calamity - what are your plans now Guy?

As for the marina owners, they have been described on this very forum as "charming."

With the charm like that shown, me thinks there will be a few more empty berths @ Eastlands before long ....

Berthing

Thanks for all the replies - I think I've got the matter sorted now. There seemed to be some confusion between the parties (Brokers, myself, and Marina Owner) regarding the status of my boat and whether it was insured or not and what had been agreed.

To cut a long story short, the Marina Owner was aware I had sold my boat and the fact that it was still there was causing him concern as he was not sure whether it was insured or not (which is a fair point from his point of view). He was also concerned that the berth was "owned" by me and not the boat - so again, the fact that the boat had been sold and was still there was a point of concern.

The Brokers assure me that they had discussed this with the Marina Owner and thought everything was "hunky dory".

Not sure which party to believe, but as I always look for the good in others, I suspect that it all got a bit lost in translation between the three of us. You know - the classic:

"there was a job to be done and three people were available to do. They were called Somebody, Everbody and Nobody. Everybody knew the job had to be done and assumed that Somebody would do it. In the end Nobody did it."

Fingers crossed that it is all sorted now.

Just on look out for next boat. Thinking of a Broom but not sure if I'm old enough!!!
