Moored in La Rochelle, for this week's Fete Maritime (and the Fete de la Musique, midsummer celebrations, tomorrow night)

Spotted Bernard Moitessier's Joshua. Back afloat after her (or being French. that should probably be 'his') refit. Dents (from being wrecked, on a Mexican reef, in 1982 cyclone) left as badges of honour. I’m told.

Got invited aboard for a guided tour, With the aid of a charming French veteran, replete with beret. Full story and more pix here if you are interested.
