We've just arrived for our first visit to Bequia. Does anyone have any recommendations or places of interest to visit on the island? So far the local people have been lovely.

Foxy's Bar is a great place. Luckily Jost van Dyke is just a mere stones throw from Bequia. :o

I wondered about that, we went to Foxy's on our last trip over here in 2017. It was fun but a little expensive and over commercial. I think today we will heading off for a walk around. A lazy day methinks!

A walk around to the beach (can't remember name but if you go down to Lower Bay you'll find it) is a pleasant day out. I also took my bike for a ride around the North end of the island but there was a lot of high fences and barking dogs up there.

One day I joined a group for a ferry to St V and up to the rain forests and the zoological gdns.

Many thanks, we've walked along to lower Bay and have now stopped on the way back for an ice cream. All very good. We're heading over to the other side of the island tomorrow. It appears to be about a mile away. Lovely vibe here, we stopped at a couple of bars on the beach, very friendly.

Moonhole - best seen from the water one of the water taxi boats would take you.

Fish fry Friday at the Fig Tree is excellent BOOK! Give Cheryl a hug from Elephants Child.

The model boat workshop is good but be prepared for sticker shock.

It sounds like you have already found Mariannes ice cream at the Gingerbread.

I always take a first timer up to the Hamilton Battery. for a sundowner BYOB

Many thanks, TQA, fortunately we've done all of them, except the BYOB and the fish fry but hope to eat there tonight. Tomorrow we're off to Martinique. I may start a new thread but we're just trying to decide which marina to use for our first couple of nights.

I've only been a couple of times, but my memory is a pleasant place with friendly people. Not a ton of touristy destinations to visit, it is a place to relax rather than run around.

As Richard has pointed out, Foxy's is in BVI: an entirely different country not especially close to SVG. Post #3 is like recommending tea at The Empress hotel (in Victoria, British Columbia) as a pleasant way to spend an afternoon in Chicago!

We've now moved on to Martinique, I think I'll start a new thread about that.
Thanks for the help so far though.
