Have been a stick and string man for the past 40 years and now contemplating a less strenuous (albeit more expensive!) form of boating by taking on a motor boat. No idea what I should be looking for except that I am not after all-out speed, need 2 cabins (4 berths) as minimum, and a reasonably low acquisition cost all to be based in the Med. The trawler yachts seem to meet the brief. Time to ask the experts, so your views would be welcomed.

Many thanks, Alan

I looked at these at various boat shows, and love the practicality, for all it's worth!

Apparently quality is not up to Mercedes standards though!? :nonchalance:

If sammy B is around, I think that they owned one, and really enjoyed it afaik.
Less well put together than some of the well renowned trawler brands but very well thought out in terms of layout and usability, IMHO.
We had one near us in Falmouth with a blue hull and topside, looked great and would be a very nice to own I think.

Much nicer looking than the ST 50' and some really good value examples knocking around I reckon.

I looked at the 44 and 34 and decided if I were to buy one then the 34 has everything I need - even though they only come with a single engine. The 44 has quite a lot of wasted flybridge space by comparison.

We did indeed have a Swift 44, had a great season on her so very happy to answer any questions you have!

Thanks everyone. I think I need to get down and see one. I have previously walked around the 50 which was great - but now I am retiring, a little more than I am prepared to pay. Sammy B , I will contact you later and thanks to all again
