Age dictates a change from sail to power!!
The Swift 42 seems good for what we need, but have reservations over performace and bow up attitude at speed. Does anyone out there have experience and comments to make about this boat?

I had a look at one in the process of being put together in N Wales. Perhaps it was an unfortunate state to see it in but I would have to agree about the build quality. Also thought that access to the flybridge was poor and a non-starter when I considered my young crew. It was a shame as I wanted to like it and it did seem to offer good value for money.

I have looked at the trawler last year and loved it. Fit out fairly basic but great use of space and feels like you can go anywhere in it. I never sea trialed it so do not know about the performance on the ocean.

I've only looked at one at a boat show but I was'nt impressed with the build quality or the railway carriage like saloon
Agree with the others in that the Nimbus 370/380 Commander is a much better built boat. If you want a proper trawlerish type boat, take a look at a Hardy or Grand Banks

Dickies have had one sitting around at Brighton for a very long time. Bet they'd be happy to do a sea trial for you, and I'm sure you could agree a serious discount for a quick deal.
