What would they do with it otherwise. Seems a shame to scrap it.
Its obviously not commercially viable to repair but I suppose a good DIYer could make it work. I would be sceptical of their cost estimate of materials quoted though.
You may have some trouble satisfiying insurers its seaworthy when finished, bit like a written off car.

Fully restored, likely to be worth upwards of £35,000. The big question is whether or not a GRP hull with such serious damage can be properly repaired by an amateur. In addition the interior shows that the boat was completely flooded, and a great deal of interior refurbishment (probably amounting to a complete strip out and rebuild) is needed. If the buyer strips the interior himself, contracts out the GRP & structural work to a professional, and rebuilds the interior himself he will probably end up with a boat costing about half its final value.

Agree, especially as the starboard liner has to come out (in pieces),probably want to load up the keel laterally and check the floor grid.Fabricate new wood trim, water damage salt and sand.mud throughout, blah blah.A real bendy toy!

There is still the odd yacht on the USA Ebay from hurricane Katrina. Hundreds of yachts damaged there, some just water damaged interiors, some even worse than this one. There is a market out there for these fixer uppers. I would be tempted by some of the extra ordinary bargains that were on Ebay.

this one will probably re appear for sail some where as an ex charter yacht.
