As a very delighted Beneteau Antares 9.8 owner, I was gobsmacked that I couldn't find an owners association. There is one for the rag powered brigade, but not apparently for us. Please, someone tell me I'm wrong..... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The BOA is exactly that, the beneteau owners association, it is meant for all bene owners, if you want me to i will put up a Mobo forum, but you will have to join first!!

I have a Beneteau MOBO, but you must have low standards if you allow me to join.

why not? get the same deal as others, if you want a forum I can do that, free boat show tickets as long as Bene keep supplying them, a quartely mag, get your stories published, regattas, bbqs, HEy do you wanna join and be a rep?

skipper_stu, had a look at the site, EVERY entry was for our wind assisted friends. I happen to think Beneteau are damn fine boats and deservedly popular.
I will join and hopefully, as my wife said on our honeymoon night, this will be the start of something huge....! (On rreflection, she meant married life....)

Jeanneau, they? the BOA was started by a few private individuals, nowt to do with Beneteau BUT they recognized the importance of keeping in touch with owners and have supported us ever since, I remember years ago going to the SIBS and they treated us to a slap up meal at the posh Soton yacht club, I speak french fluently and we had a superb evening with the top brass, carl is the leading light and has arranged trips to the bene factory. all is possible, so to answer your question, the association has a close association with the factory but is separate and jeanneau is separate again, why not start a jeanneau owners association?

Crapest idea I've ever heard of. We already have forums for every area of the UK and complaints from the Bristol chanel lot, that it's dead. Then what do the folk do thats had a few different boats. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Do they offer advice on the last form they joined, then look for advice on a new one!!

I think we should have a Conwy based P35 forum. I am told there is another one. Hope he reads this thread, then there will be two of us. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Brilliant - just posted on the new BOA Mobo Forum. Many thanks to Skipper Stu (and Carl) for sorting this. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Got an email from BOA recently re: joining. Some of the benefits looked quite handy, but replied that it didn't look like Mobo's were included, so didn't join. Might re-think that now. Hopefully this new Mobo forum will get some good response.

We've always got a few queries about our 9.80, so input from other 9.80 owners would be very welcome.

Thanks again.

I noticed this when we first bought ours, and did indeed start working on an owners club for the mobo types. Unfortunately work got in the way and it sort of slipped off the agenda. Shame really as I even had a basic web site design sorted. I generally intended it to be a 'club' rather than a forum, with a news page, info on the different models etc. Not unlike the Fairline Owners Association or some of the yotty owners clubs. If anyone wants to talk to me about getting this idea going again then please feel free to PM me. I might have some more time soon as well. Also just joined the BOA forum in the meantime.
