HI, Does anyone know how to remove the separate panels of headlining? Ply panels with Teak joints.

They look like they may be on some type of tounge & groove system, but I'm struggling to find the starting point.

All I want to do is recover the panels.

Help Please

If it's the same construction as the First 38 then from the top down it's ply sheet with ' plank' sized boards fixed to it spaced out to take 1" ish teak battens. Foam backed lining glued on to follow the shape of the backing board and the recess for the battens, then finished off with the teak battens pressed into place.
Once you carefully pull the battens down and out, probably after removing the trim piece at either end of each panel, you'll see the screws the hold up each panel recessed in the grove the teak battens fit into.
Not a one person job as the panels are heavy.

Thanks
the teak battens don't seem to want to come down even after removing the end trim sections screwed to the bulkheads, they appear to be T shaped beams with the panels pushed in between and there appear to be screws from the top down into the panels

This info derived from removing the panel around the saloon hatch
