Daft question, but I have looked for several hours without success and don't relish spending any more time than necessary in the embarrassingly oily bilges: Does anyone know where Beneteau put the split charging system in their Evasion 34 please? (4108 Perkins.) I have had the alternator rebuilt, confirming that it is a single battery insulated return type, traced wires through all manner of channels and removed various panels all to no avail.

I know the darned thing has to be there somewhere because the service batteries are getting charged, albeit suboptimally, and I wish to get shot of it and fit an A-B charger.

I have found what appears to be a split charging diode in the bows for charging the windlass battery. The voltage at that battery would suggest that it is not paralleled with the service batteries and using that as the main split charger, but...
