Hello everyone,

I am wondering if the Beneteau Antares 9 is large enough to rent for a week for a family of 4 and would like to hear some opinions.
Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Kind regards
Ben

OK for a weekend, but very cramped for a week, unless two of the family members are really small. Also depends on where.

It very much depends on your family, ages, how good you are in tight spaces together, what you're all used to and what you plan to do on the cruise. A 29' boat with 2 cabins was probably a fairly generous family cruiser not that many years ago (at least in the sailing world, and possibly would have even been considered quite large by many!). It's only more recently that sizes (and onboard amenities) seem to have crept up and up. My personal motor boat is a 26' Saga and I'd quite happily stick my family of 4 (two children < 5) on it for a week.

If your typical holiday is 4 people in a tent and that's what you enjoy doing and are comfortable with then this would be a definite upgrade! If everyone is used to individual bedrooms in a hotel/villa, multiple ensuites and lots of space to relax separately, then it will be a big change.

In somewhere like Croatia presumably you'd likely only be motoring for a couple of hours a day between ports, and then ashore exploring some of the islands/towns, swimming off the back, etc., possibly some meals out and then back onboard for sleeping. So depending on what you enjoy doing, possibly you won't spend that much time onboard during the day.
