Beneteau Antares 700 peche

Hello,
Does anyone on here have experience with one of these boats. I'm actively trying to source a good secondhand one ( around 2002) in the UK and Ireland with no success.
I've now turned my attention to severel models located in Northern France but getting replys to my e-mails is tough- Is it the language barrier?
Budget of around €35 000 is tight too and the cost of surveying and transport is another hassle but I'm willing to grin and bear it to get the right boat. Anyone else bought in France?????

I want the boat for serious Sea angling out of a port in the south west of ireland... we'd be putting up big hours. The deckspace and design and lines of this boat are what I'm after.

Haven't really considered alternatives except Hardy 24 short cabin but the stern drive/ outdrive leg set up puts me off and they're mad money but something in this style...and no I don't want an ex lobster boat and chug along at 6 knots all day and come back smelling of diesel!!!

Any ideas as to why the Antares 700p is so difficult to buy second hand?? very few sold maybe

Your main problem will be that there weren't very many sold in the UK as, if I recall, it wasn't actually stocked by UK Beneteau dealers, but more of a special order. I don't think it was even listed in the 2004 brochure, when I bought my 650.

What with the current exchange rate, any that are/were here will have been snapped up by the French as they would have been very cheap. The downside of this is that buying one second-hand from France will be relatively expensive.
