I am researching an article on buying a used Beneteau Antares 13.80 for MBY. If you have any experience of this boat I would like to hear from you.

Have skippered a couple and most impressed with their sea keeping, sorry to say better than any UK fayre of similar size or indeed many a med builder.
Good honest boat, does what it says on the tin, three cabins are a bonus and engine access is great and easy to get into. saloon is not as big as others and the fly is a bit smaller too but great side decks and loads of space up forward for lolling about in the sun. In all a great family boat if lacking a little in the 'flash' stakes but can't think of a safer and more user freindly fly of similar size for families and will get you and your family home in quite poor conditions should the weather turn.

I agree with nautical. I've never driven one but I've seem them at boat shows and I found the 13.80 to be a good sensible boat with 3 usable cabins, big side decks and really safe foredeck
But you'll be lucky to find anyone with first hand experience of owning one as I doubt more than a handful have been sold in the UK

Agree with everything Nautical said. Would also add that the 13.80 is a great cruising boat, fantastic turn of speed and great handling in turns for such a large boat, really stable even in rough waters. The Volvo engines are a little slow to respond at low speed in the marina so you need to be thinking ahead all the time but handles well, I've heard that the newer Cummins versions are more responsive. Engine roon access is excellent with an almost walk in entrance. The fittings are typical Beneteau, simple and practical so the luxuries are not great. Side decks are great but for some reason don't have drainage so water runs back into the cabin area. I go out regularly with a friend who uses his weekly for fishing and the more I use it the more impressed I am with it.

I personally have an antares 13.80, I cannot give you any feedback on how it reacts on the sea since I am using it the Leman Lake (Geneva), but we are really enjoying it. It is a wonderful boat. We can discuss further if needed.
