When lowering my Beneteau 440 of 22 yrs, using a cradle on to the hard, the keel sat stock-still but as the cradle straps were loosened, the middle of the hull directly behind the back of the keel kept dropping by about a centimetre, leaving a very slight concave shape in the centre of the hull. Has anyone else experienced this problem with older or similar length boats? I am aware that the weight distribution on this 44fter is significantly greater aft compared to the bow. De-lamination is always a concern or is it a function of a huge amount of weight sitting aft on a relatively thin keel for the size of boat that has caused this slight sagging. Any ideas??
