The original stemhead fitting on my Beneteau 331 is a cast aluminum unit originally designed to store a Danforth type anchor which is not a type I like to use.
I want to store a Rocna / delta / claw type anchor but the anchor tip will end up hard up against the bow. I am therefore considering ways to extend the existing unit by removing the existing roller and fitting a secondary Bow Roller assembly to the existing casting, possibly a hinged type. Has anyone any experience of this?

As always any sensible advice would be greatly received!

we are into the replacement of the stemhead on a 331. The casting is damaged and the owner wants to replace it with an offset dual anchor roller. The issue is with all bolts removed the stemhead casting is in some manner boded to the deck, perhaps 5200 urethane?? Were you able to remove the casting and if so can you tell me how you broke the bond? I am concerned about damaging the glass.

Thanks for any suggestions, it is 17 below today and any way to accelerate the removal is greatly appreciated.
