I seem to remember, from distant past, using masking tape that followed tight curves well. I cant remember what it was called. I tried a few places to get some but no luck. Anyone know of this stuff? I want it for when I fit windows to make easy work of removing excess sikaflex. Thanks.

Put the windows in lose then cover the edge with tape then cut around the frame with stanly knife, easy. ps, take the tape off before goo sets.

I got some masking tape from b&q which is like thin plastic, it's for glass but I found it did a great job when antifouling and was easy to trim. It's also a very bright yellow and transparent so you can see underneath.

how tight a bend can you get it, I have often wished for a product like this when the masking tape folds on the slightest curve..

Try your local automotive refinisher supplier for flexible masking tape - used to be known as crepe tape - could even mask round a door lock.

Yes.. I have seen it, I didn't realise that is what it was for, never really considered it I suppose. Just noted the crepe was over double the price and picked up the cheaper stuff.

I need to paint the grippy patches on the deck, was not too keen on scalpel cut marks on the flat gel coat, which even with loads of care will still happen. I will do my half of the job.. I'll buy the crepe and flat tape, I have bought the paint and brushes. I will watch a film and give her advice and heckling on the painting, that seems more than fair!

Maybe I had better make the film blue, only chance I'm gonna get /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well at least now I know. ta
