Bembridge - Gander\'s Restaurant

As signposted at the Bembridge Marina building, Ganders sits on the green at the top of the (steep) hill up from the marina.

Quite simply the best food I have found on the IOW to date. Moderate prices, inventive but not overly-ambitious menu, very capable chef. Reasonable wine list too.

Returned for second visit last weekend and was equally impressed again - first impressions proven not to be a fluke.

But be warned, if it's too busy for me to get in next time I'll be miffed!

Agree with your comments.
At week ends I try to book in advance to save disappointment.

Incidentally, "up the hill", is I believe, St Helens. Opposite direction to Bembridge town.

Bembridge for years ... even well before the advent of Marina there - was my all-time favourite ..... but now taken a down-turn due to the reduction of visitors berths direct on the marina .... meaning stuck out on the channel pontoons ...

Sorry I think thats a down grade for what is a pleasant place.
