Bembridge beach - harbour dues

Can anyone advise what is the exact legal positon of being charged harbour dues whilst moored on the beach at Bembridge? My wife is outraged at being charged for no facilities. She thinks the £2 per person for a stones throw taxi fare is also steep.

If your on the beach where would you take the taxi to ???? How much was it on the beach..?

£10 per night for 9m boat. taxi takes you across harbour mouth

Why would you you want to cross the harbour mouth...the village is on the beach side...unless you were crossing to use the showers/ toilets ??

I think you'll find the harbour is privately owned by the Bembridge Harbour Improvements Co. Ltd, who no doubt can charge whatever they want to anyone using the harbour.........
