Following on from my earler post on same subject........ Went to boat last night and had a good crawl under the engines. Alternator perfectly ok. Both supercharger belts too slack - just a bit though. Some other belts showing signs of wear (as suggested earlier by Powerskipper - thanks Julie). Reason for alternator warning beeps and flashing light was that a terminal crimp had been poorly made and the wire was losing contact there. So, we took the boat out and she just leapt onto the plane and ran so much more quietly at less revs too. Delighted with the findings. Today i am ordering a full set of 4 new belts for the strbrd engine and a spare supercharger belt which will only be £114 as opposed to an alternator as well at £354. Sorry to be a bit pedantic but wanted to share the good news which may help someone else in the future too. Roy

Thanks Al - its great when thing work out with not too much PAIN. Tell you what then - we can have a race....... to Balloch Slip. Heres the rules. Roy - You will go on my furst whissel.........(at 10am) Alistairr - You will go on my sekund whissel - (at11am)!! Methinks that should give me a 50/50 chance of being there first???

By the way, my Volvo man said that the boat had never had an engine service other than oil change as all the nuts were still covered in Volvo green paint!!! He is going to do a complete service for me soon - brilliant.
