Hi, our electric loo is above the waterline and doesn’t like drawing up the flushing water. I’m looking for an in-line pump to prime the electric toilet. It’s the standard inlet hose size which should be 19mm?

The pump would have to be rated for below waterline use. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

You surprise me as most of the electric toilet pumps are quite powerful, drawing up to 18 amps sometimes. How far above the waterline is the toilet? Is there air getting into the inlet hose, a stuck open anti-syphon loop maybe?

Hi, there’s no antisiphon loop. The base of the toilet is about 3 inches above the waterline. There’s a non return valve inline to the seacock.

Waggling the inlet hose for about ten seconds gets inlet water flowing so we assumed trapped air but can’t work out where from.

Is the non return valve stuck open and drawing air back from the bowl?
